My channel is primarily about working with sheetmetal, sometimes using wood for jigs and fixtures. I often show techniques that are not widely known, and many of them require only simple tools. I also enjoy communicating with my viewers through the comments, and I'm happy to answer any questions you may have.

Taking a Bomber Seat to the Next Level
I had a droor full of Rod and Custom, Hot Rod , Car Craft, Custom Rodder and other car magazines by the time i was 13 or younger, i am 57 now and remember seeing your work and the cars it inspired in many of them. Thank you for bringing back fond memories of the legendary cars and builders of the past sir.
Very cool!
Wow ,,, forty years on and its still bang up to date , so clean and so fresh , I hope it goes to a great home.
Thanks - me, too!
Thank you 🌹👍
I am so glad you have discovered my videos, and enjoy them!
🌹👍
Thank you 👍
Thank you sir 👍
Magnificent work Ron! I appreciate your teaching style and thorough description of the tools and process.
I'm so glad you enjoyed the video!
Chris - I just now realized who was commenting on my videos. I am so honored that you enjoyed these videos. I know you have made a LOT of seats like this, and I love your innovative techniques. I saw one of your cars at the Rodeo Drive Concours last weekend - it looked fantastic in the sunlight!
Beautiful work and great explanation Ron!
Thanks for watching, and for taking the time to comment!
Thanks again, Looks really good still. Fred
Many thanks!
What an absolutely fantastic piece, thanks for sharing!
My pleasure!
Have you contacted Bruce Canepa?
I live close to Bruce Canepa, and I have toured his showroom many times. He always has an outstanding stable of cars for sale, and I have no doubt that he could find a qualified buyer. Of course he would want a commission (which is only fair), but I'd like to manage the sale myself.
@@RonCovell Yes, I live about 10 miles from Bruce's shop. I would love to be able to wander into the facility and see your amazing vehicle. It really is a work of art.
Yes ron that is probably the best proportioned roadsters youve ever built
Thanks so much - it has been well received!

Someone tell Jay Leno about this
It would be great if someone can show this video to Jay Leno!
Can I ask how much it cost the first owner to build this thing?
In the article in Rodder's World, Dave Cayer claimed he spent about $27,500 (US Dollars) to build the car in 1982. With inflation, that equals about $88,000 in today's dollars.
Very nice Ron! 👌 she's a beauty!
Thanks so much, Christian!
Hello Ron, there is a camper dealership named Terry Town in Grand Rapids Michigan that has an incredible car museum made into it. He buys rare, exotic and expesive cars all the time. Its nothing to him to spend a million at an auction once a month or so. You should give them a call. Your car looks amazing too by the way.
Thanks so much for the tip - I will certainly check them out!
Noticed Ron has replied to everyone who's commented, what a gent! Good on you Ron.
I think if people take the time to comment, they deserve a response of some kind.
Greets from Finland. That's beautiful craftsmanship there. I sincerely hope it gets good home in some public location. I very much dislike rich people buying very special vehicles to their private collections. It would be nice for mere mortals to see vehicles like this in person to marvel them.
Thank you very much!
I remember the car in the magazines! This car is wonderful!
I certainly thank you!
At 4:11 I see one pedal. It's beautiful just like the rest of the car. But where's the brake or accelerator pedal ? One of them is missing.
The pedal you see most prominently is the throttle. The brake pedal is on the other side of the steering column. If you look closely, you can see it.
🇬🇧 That is one beautiful work of art. I only wish I was 50 years younger and had loads of money.
I'm so glad you enjoyed the video!
@@RonCovell Yes it was great, and so is your car, I love it. Many thanks.
Wow, if only... Such a beautiful example of engineering and craftsmanship.
I'm so glad you enjoyed this video!
That is beautiful. Sadly a bit too far for me.
I'm so glad you appreciate the car!
It's so very sweet, love the details. Hope you find a good buyer that honors your wishes and shows it to the people. Cheers Ron, very nice indeed. 👍💪✌
Thank you kindly!
As much as this is an ad it is more of an adoption call too. Master Ron, keep em coming (the project reviews not the sales if it can be helped OFC)
I will certainly keep posting videos that are related to metalworking, and not geared toward selling anything!
This vehicle is a witness of years of accumulated experience, engineering, skills and fine craftsmanship. The brain and body outcome of Ron Covell. Thanks for sharing Ron
I'm so glad you enjoyed this video!
Stunning art, Ron.
Thank you so much!
@@RonCovell very,very welcome,Ron a piece of art.
Nice work Mr Covell
Thank you kindly
There are ashes and rare but shining diamonds. Ron and his work will go into history as one of those rare nartural (not synthetic) diamonds.
What a lovely, and poetic thing to say. Thank you so much!
That is one sweet looking ride. Ever thought of doing it for a living?? Seriously Ron, that is gorgeous.
Thanks so much!
It is an amazing work of art Ron, well done!
Thank you! Cheers!
Incredible.
Covell is one of the only people that could put an ad on youtube and have me watch it voluntarily.
I'm glad you took it the right way - I really dislike most advertising, too!
You should be getting a call from the Peterson soon.
Jere - I was there yesterday! They have an amazing collection, but it's mostly donated.
Ron... Nice Car!! You really do beautiful work!
Thanks so much, Paul. That really means a lot, coming from you!
Simply incredible work. Your skills are amazing!
Thanks so much!
A work of pure art and genius. Mr Cover, you are a national treasure!
Wow - that's quite a complient!
❤️🔥
Thanks for watching!
I like this car
I truly appreciate your comment!
Wish I wasn't poor I'd love to own a car I grew up seeing in the magazines. Total work of art! 👍👍
Thank you so much!
I would love to buy that much awesomeness but sadly I can't come up with the 2.8 trillion asking price... 😉👍 Ford power baby, worth every penny! ✝️🇺🇲💪
Well, maybe you'll win the lottery!
"Mechanics Special, Old Man Driven only on Sundays. Don't low ball me buddy, I know what I got!" 🤣

@@RonCovell Thanks Ron. Nothing but admiration for your lifetime of dedicated craft.
Gosh I wish I could afford something like this! What a piece of history!
I'm glad you liked this video.
Sweet!
Thanks!
This work of art leaves me without words… Awesomeness Extreme!
Wow, thanks!
wow a very beautiful car!!!
Glad you like it!
Typical Ron Covell, rolling art. I would love for Speedway to add it to their museum. They display their cars, but some also get driven and taken to shows.
Well, I sent the video to their curator. We'll see where it goes!
@@RonCovell I wish you well sir. I love that museum and I love your work.
I love the late 30's -early 50's F1 aesthetics. Looks like something Wifredo Ricart would have done.
I had to look up Wilfredo Ricart, but I recognized his designs for Pegaso.
@@RonCovell he's a really interesting guy! Ricart did a car called the Alfetta 158 and your roadster reminds me a lot of it.
I wish. fantastic metal work as always
Thank you!
a work of art for sure! Gorgeous!
Thanks so much!
